Born in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, master tailor Elizabeth T.T. Mebane learned the art of tailoring at an early age. She assisted her grandparents in their custom tailoring business specializing in traditional Vietnamese and Chinese garments. At the age of 17, Elizabeth pursued her passion for tailoring by moving to Phan Rang, Vietnam, to work for a Taiwanese tailor shop called Western Wear. Here, Elizabeth gained the skills to custom-make men’s and women’s suits.
Four years later, Elizabeth moved to Greensboro, NC with her family. Taking advantage of the skills she learned in Vietnam, Elizabeth continued to work as a tailor for Men's Wearhouse as well as Belk’s. After many years of custom-making clothes for friends and family, in 2003 Elizabeth decided to open a shop of her own serving Greensboro and Raleigh, NC. Elizabeth’s Alterations now employs experienced professional seamstresses and provides services ranging from custom-made wedding gowns and suits to alterations for formal and everyday wear.
